Our
provider's data center strategy consists of building out their own
facilities as needed. This facility-owned
strategy is quite different than most of our competitors,
who instead choose to co-locate their operations within another
provider's data center. While certainly more economical in the short-run,
especially for smaller providers, the cost is simply passed down
to the customer.
Our Providers
Own and Manage All of Their Own Data Center Facilities
By owning and operating all of their own Internet Data Centers (IDCs),
they have full control and authority
over policies and procedures surrounding their facilities. This
means they decide security policies, physical access lists, network
architecture and topology, etc. These are important points because
firms that choose to co-locate loose control
of these considerations, and are powerless to their co-location
service provider's policies. Poor judgment
and network/power failures are out of their control, and
their customers pay the price in downtime and a lower quality of
service.
Internet
Data Center Overview
Currently, our providers maintains over 6,200
square feet of data center space within two separate Internet Data
Centers in Kansas City, Missouri. Additionally, their 850 square
foot separate power facility houses equipment and batteries, as
well as transformer and local utility feeds. The Internet Data Centers
(IDCs) are modeled after telco-grade facilities of Tier 1 service
providers. These IDCs have all of the security features and amenities
one would find in a large service provider.
